Color Challenge

This week's color challenge at The Outlawz is bright and colorful.  It was a lot of fun to see what my fellow DT's were going to come up with!  Teresa picked our palette and beautiful inspiration photo.  She is the "MOM" of several birds and they are precious to her.  The Twist for this week is to add wings.

I used my Spellbinder's Nestibilities and Sizzix embossing folder, papers from my stash, some wings I downloaded of off Pinterest, and one of my Fiskar border punches.  I love the border punches and have collected quite a few of them.

I know it is close to the holidays but if you have some time, come over and play with us!

Over at Through the Craftroom Door there is an "Anything Goes" challenge that is going on.  You really need to check out the beautiful cards and projects that are there!  If you are not yet a subscriber to their online magazine, I hightly recommend it!  So many awesome projects, tutorials and inspiration.  These days I need all the help I can get!  My old brain gets stale a lot lately.

Guylou's Inimitability Blog has an awesome challenge, too!  Gina is challenging everyone to use a snow theme.  I made a card for my friend who is battling breast cancer (she is doing great!)  and used Guylou's ribbon angel.  I stacked some poinsettia flowers and secured them with a brad.  All the papers I used I have had in my stash.  I am so bad about taking my paper packs apart and forget where I got them.  I used the square Nestibilities, some ribbon and a pre-done sentiment.

Hello!

Finally have some time to get my post up even if it is after midnight!  First, at the Outlawz Color Challenge, it is my week to pick the color palette.  I chose some different holiday colors to challenge your creativity.

Our Sponsor The Month

I had some silver, woven mesh fabric type "paper" that I picked up several years ago at a scrap convention in Duluth, Georgia.  Finally got around to using it!  I cut two pine cones with my Cricut and embossed them with embossing powders.  I cut a branck with the Cricut and glittered it up.  The border is made with a Fiskar border punch and the ribbon was from a friend.

At Guylou's Inimitability

The challenge is to make a project featuring snow.  I used Guylou's Ribbon Angel to make a Christmas card for a friend battling breast cancer.  She is doing great!  I used my Copic markers to color her and some Christmas papers from my stash.

I glittered up her wings, added metallic ribbon and a die cut made with a nestability die.  The poinsettia stacked flower is also from my stash and is secured with a glittered brad.

Through The Craftroom Door

The challenge at TTCRD is up and running, too!  I used Michelle Perkett's beautiful mermaid and adapted her to a holiday theme.  In my interpretation she has just returned from Christmas shopping!  She is colored with Copics,  double matted on Christmas paper and I bordered that with another paper and added a sentiment cut from yet another paper.  I think she looks festive!

As you can see, you have many avenues you can take to be creative this week!  Hope you will check them ALL out and hopefully play in all of them.  As always there are awesome prizes to be won in random drawings!

December........

December should be two month's long to do everything I have on my list!  I'm sure some of you will agree with me.  Just finished decorating the inside and outside of the house and now I have to clean up the mess of boxes, fake snow and glitter!  I had so much glitter on me that I told my hubs I should glue myself to the wall as a decoration!

Lots of FAB challenges for you to enter and excellent prizes to be won!  At The Outlawz it is Tuesday, well it is Tuesday in most places, but that means the Color Challenge is posted.  Lauren has come up with an awesome palette for everyone to create something wonderful.

Our fantastic sponsor for this month!

I have used some DCWV paper and some other papers I have had in my stash, a Nestibility die, Cricut die cut bells, Christmas ribbon, silk poinsettia and leaves and a small jewelled flower on the bow.  The ribbon has gold, raised snowflakes on it.

There is still time to enter the challenge at TTCRD.  It is an Anything Goes challenge and the sponsor is Michelle Perkett.  She has some awesome digis!  Hope you will find some crafty time in your busy Holiday schedule to share you wonderful projects at these two superb sites!

Goodmorning!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  We gathered at my sister's with a large extended family and my BIL always invites some displaced young soldiers from Ft. Benning.  We had a wonderful time and we all reflected on our many blessings.  On Friday morning, as is tradition, my sis Rochelle, Mom and I drive to Atlanta and spend the weekend shopping!  It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without doing that.  We think we have been doing this for 33 years.  Now my daughter lives in Atlanta so we don't have to rent a hotel.  She joins us on Saturday and Sunday.

Color Challenge at The Outlawz

This week, Guylou is challenging us to make a card or project using more than one fold.  The DT outdid themselves with fabulous projects!  I decided to make a treat box.  I used an old CM template from the circle cutters that is shaped like a large flower.  I scored it and folded it into the shape you see below.  I saw this technique on a tutorial.

I added a little pink distressing ink to the edges of my basket and wrapped a small candle in tulle.  I also added some stickles to the floral digi by Sponsor: Delicious Doodles

Guylou's Lovely Card

Don't forget to check out the challenges at Through the Craftroom Door and Guylou's Inimitabilities!

Creative Freebie Challenge

There is still time to enter the Creative Freebie Challenge at The Outlawz.  Sandi Huggett and Anne Fenton have some wonderful digis to use in their challenge.  This is a great way to receive FREE digis and have fun entering your creative project.

Challenge At Guylou's Inimitabilities

You still have time to enter a FAB challenge at Guylou's!  Carla is challenging us to be "thankful", whether you celebrate Thanksgiving in the USA or just want to thank someone for being special in your life.  I used Guylou's "Apple Basket and Sunflowers".  It was so much fun to color up.  I embossed my papers and used my Copic Markers.  All of the papers are quite old!  Some old CM paper I have had forever.  Never to late to use your stash!

I hope all my friends will come over and join us this week and I hope everyone that celebrates Thanksgiving a blessed holiday!

The Holidays.......

The holidays are upon us, and as my usual style, the hurryer I go the behinder I get!  I love the inspiration photo that Ursula chose this week at the Color Challenge at The Outlawz.  Those gowns are just fabulous.  If I were a bit younger I would love to have one!

I used one of our sponsor's digis and she is an ethereal beauty!  I gave her an Avatar look.  I used Martha's small butterfly punch, metallic bronze and metallic gold and green papers.  (They don't show their soft shimmer very well in the photo).  The border punch is by Fiskar and my fabric is some bronze tulle I have had for a time.  I colored her with my Copic Markers.

Check out Delicious Doodle web site for some awesome and fun digis and come an join us at the Color Challenge!

The Outlawz Color Challenge

Time for the new weekly Color Challenge at The Outlawz!  Teresa is challenging us to make a vintage card or project.  She has inspired me to get to working on my memorial shadow box for my Dad who passed away two years ago.  I got the picture of my Dad from when he was in the military police.  The photo is about 60 years old.  The rifle bullet casing is from his 21 gun salute at his funeral.  This will be the center piece of my shadow box.  I hope to get it finished so I can upload it to share here.

I wanted to showcase Teresa's card also.  The photo is of her Dad during his service in Canada.  I think they were both handsome men!  What do ya think??

Looking forward to seeing all of you in the challenge!

Challenge at Guylou's!

I picked the challenge theme for this challenge and I named it "Tickle Me", add a feather to your project!  This was a lot of fun for me.  Back in October, our Ladies of Harley group had our annual fund raiser for Breast Cancer Awareness.  We all wear hot pink feather boas.  That inspired me to dress Guylou's image of Leah and Her Ribbon with a hot pink feather boa!

Hope you will come over the Guylou's Inimitability Blog and join in the fun!

Challenge Deadline:You have until 10:00 pm on November 15th to link your project to the InLinkz at the end of this post. Please make sure your project matches the requirements before you link it.

How to participate:
You can enter only ONE project per challenge, but if you use a Guylou's Inimitability digistamp, your project will count for two entries. If you don't have one of her digistamps and your budget is tight; please check her online store where several freebies are available.

Prize:
A winner will be selected randomly and will win:
1. A $10.00 gift certificate from Guylou's online store

Last Color Challenge for October

Good morning friends!  I am fresh off the blog hop at TTCRD and it was fun!  It is the first blog hop I have participated in and I enjoyed meeting many crafters.  Thanks to everyone who participated!  The winner of my blog candy, a $15 gift certificate from Oozak, is Sheree, Vancouver Island Craft Junkie!  Congrats, Sheree.

My heart goes out to all who are in the path of hurricane Sandy.  Hunker down and stay safe!  I have relatives in Massachusetts and New Jersey, so I am in constant touch!

I can't believe October is almost over!  Where has the year gone??  This is the last Color Challenge for October at The Outlawz, and it was my choice.  I found this adorable photo on Pinterest and just loved all the fun colors.  Guylou did an excellent job, as always, making the color blocks to use.  Guylou is also sponsoring our challenge with a $10.00 gift certificate from her store, "Guylou's Inimitabilities"!  She has some awesome digis up for grabs!

The "October Opulence" twist is to add a pumpkin!

I used Guylou's pretty Fairy Witch for my card and colored her up with my Copic Markers.  I cut the pumpkin with my Cricut and used chalk to highlight.  The papers are old from my stash and I added some Autumn colored jewels for accent, and a computer generated sentiment.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with!

Welcome to the TTCRD Blog Hop!!

Fellow DTeamie Jo Ham created this most adorable video so you can see what is going on here at the Blog Hop!  When you visit all the blogs, including Through the Craftroom Door, and leave a comment, you will be eligible for some FAB prizes.  I am offering a $15.00 gift certificate from Oozak in a random drawing at the end of the hop.
Here is my card using Michelle Perkett's lovely Witch.

The theme is "Anything Goes"!  I used Michelle Perkett's beautiful bewitching witch!  I decided to do her with unconventional colors and used a pink and lavender color combo with my Copic markers.  I added some stacked assorted paper flowers, a homemade stick pin, some jewels, a feather, and sparkly black ribbon.  I used a Martha punch for the spider webbing on the left of my card, a Sizzix embossing folder and last but not least,  Martha's little gothic and glittered letters.

Please check out everyone's blog!!

Thanks for joining us at Through The Craftroom Door!

1, 2, 3....Can You Scare Me???

1, 2, 3...can you scare me?

Boo! Did I scare you? It's that time of the year when creaky noises make you jump and dark corner gives you goose bumps. For this scary challenge, Kim is challenging us to create a project using the following recipe:
1 ribbon
2 embellishments (flowers/bling/metals etc...)
3 deco papers
Make it scary/dark/gothic

This is such a FUN Challenge!  Kim, a fellow DTeamie, came up with the theme for Guylou's Inimitability Blog challenge!  I just had to show case her project here along with mine.

Kim

 Me

We both used Guylou's Franken-Miguel.  He is really too cute to spook!  You have the next two week to get your crafty project in to be eligible for the prize drawing!  Hope to see you there!

Color Challenge Tuesday

Well, it is only Tuesday, and it has been a busy week.  My daughter, SIL and grandson got home from their visit to Italy and Switzerland.  They had a ball.  Her husband, Andy, and his Dad taught tennis for a week in at an Italian resort on the coast for a week and then they headed to Basel, Switzerland to stay a week with Andy's Dad.  Here is a picture of Elizabeth and Dean with the gorgeous Swiss mountains behind them.

Andy, Fred and Dean.
Of course I am glad to have them home!

Color Challenge at The Outlawz

Guylou chose our lovely color palette this week and her challenge was to make a project relating to FOOD!  (One of my favorite subjects!)

I paper pieced an apron, added a Jolee's lemon, a fabric rose, stick pin that I made, and a Nestibilities die cut.  I used Cat's Eye Chalk on the outside of the card and finished off the inside with another die cut.  Of course, what card is not complete without a little bling and rick rack!  Hope ya'll can find some time to come over and play as this is a FUN challenge!  How many times to you get to "play" with food??

I also did a fundrasing ride with the "Pink Ladies" motorcycle group for breast cancer.  Over $8,000.00 dollars was raised and it will stay locally.  I am on the right with two of my fellow biker chicks!

This is a cause near and dear to me as my sister is a six year survivor and a friend in the fight now.

Howdy!

It is finally a beautiful FALL morning in Georgia!  We don't get much of a spring or fall......a few days and then what we consider winter.  Some days of our winter are in the seventies!

Our Book Club met last evening and it was my turn to host.  I tried a new recipe (YIKES) but everyone loved it.  (Thank goodness) We discussed our latest read, "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".  Worth the read, especially if you have kids in middle and senior high school.  As always is was good friends, food and wine!

This week's Color Challenge is a fun one picked by DTeamer, Ursula.  She picked a FAB color palette and theme.  Hope we have challenged everyone to come over and play!

Above is mine and I made an old fashioned train case with one of "Guylou's Inimitabilities" digis.  I colored her with Copics, used some old Daisy D's paper, a travel charm, button, ticket with a vellum sentiment attached.

Have a blessed and crafty week!

TTCRD

Through the Craft Room Door has a new challenge this week!  Please check out TTCRD to see what wonderful inspiration you can pick up and sign up for the FUN!

I am proud to be on the DT for the next three months!  There is a lot of fun, chatter and freinds to meet, so git on over there!

Good Morning!

So much is happening this week and not all of it good.  One of my co-workers and friend is having a double mastectomy next Tuesday, and my daughter's MIL and my friend's Mom is having a liver biopsy today.  My brain is still trying to wrap around all of this and I just hate it!  If all my cyber friends would keep these two lovely ladies in your prayers, it would be so much appreciated.

Changing gears here.....The Color Challenge at The Outlawz is up and running.  Team member, Margaret, chose the lovely palette and inspiration photo, and her "twist" is to add pearls.  I made an easel card this week. (Please ignore the twisted ribbon on the inside)!  My flower centers are Perfect Pearls.

Thanks to Color Challenges wonderful sponsor:

Sandi Huggett and Anne Fenton have outdone themselves with their digis for the "Creative Freebie Challenge"!  You can tell they are feeling FALL!  If you haven't signed up to play in this group, you should!  You receive free digis every two weeks, and all you have to do to keep receiving them is to make cards using them in the bi-monthly challenge.

I cut a sunflower out of the Daisy D's background paper and inserted it into Sandi's digi.Fall to me is "perfection and bliss".

Be on the lookout for a new challenge from Guylou's Inimitabilities later in the week!  It promises to be a fun one!

Still a Day Late and a Dollar Short!

Wellllll......Life is calming down a bit for me.  I've taken more time off of work this summer than I have in years!  It has been to do some awesome stuff, though, so I can't complain too much!  Work is finally calming down enough that I can try to get some quality crafting in!

I recently joined the DT at Through The Craft Room Door.  If you have not checked them out......YOU NEED TO!  It is a really fun and talented group of members and the awesome chatter does not stop!

Click on the link on the side bar and check them out. There are a lot of fun challenges and very fun crafters to meet!

COLOR CHALLENGE THE OUTLAWZ

Laurian selected our awesome color palette and inspiration photo.  The twist this week is to add leaves.  My image is from Inky Impressions and she is an adorable little fairy doing her laundry.  She was a lot of fun to color up with my Copics.  The leaves I used (there are also leaves in the digi) were punched from a tiny punch I picked up on the dollar table at Mike's.  I used a Martha border punch, Sizzix embossing folder, a little bit of rick rack and a gem on a gem.

Hope you will find some time to come and check out "Through the Craftroom Door" and the ever infamous "The Outlawz" and send some love!

This has been the Summer that does not want to end. The weather has been so wonderful in the Northern Hemisphere. Fall is just around the corner and we are still enjoying Summer like weather. No complaints here!! :)

This challenge is about Weather! Trina is challenging us to make a project which has a weather theme. To inspire you, here is Trina's master piece.

I chose Guylou's adorable pouncing kitty!

Come check out the challenge and enter a project!  The prize is awesome digis by Guylou to a randomly drawn person!
