The Last Two Challenges of the Month

It is so hard to believe that summer is just about over.  Not that I am not looking forward to fall, it has been stinkin' hot in the south.  I do not do hot very well.  This has been a really fast passing year!  I remember my Mom telling me when I was growing up that the older you got the faster the year went.  She was right!  It is hard to believe that we have been "Outlawz" for almost two years!

Today's Color Challenge is one that was chosen by Ursula, using two shades of purple and white.  The "Awfully Hot August" twist is to add a letter.

I used my Cricut to cut out my initial and dotted the "R" with purple stickles.  I used two coordinating PP, some fiber, rick rack, tulle, and pearls.  I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

The next two cards are for the Creative Freebie Challenge.  Anne drew some lovely Koi fish for the challenge, and Sandi drew an awesome dragonfly.  I had a lot of fun coloring them all up!  They offer the digis for FREE if you participate in the Challenges.  That's a pretty good deal!

I hope to see lots of entries this week in both challenges as The Outlawz!

Are You Ready For Some Football????

Boy the weeks are flying by and I am ready for some football!  Just two more weeks.  I love me some football.  My college team is the University of Alabama's Crimson Tide and I am an Atlanta Falcons fan on the pro side.  Football also means......Fall!  YAY!

This week at The Outlawz Color Challenge, Margaret picked an awesome inspiration photo and a fall theme.  She challenges everyone to add some fall bling to there creation.  I actually got to see the glass sculpture in her inspiration photo first hand when I was in Seattle last month.  The artist, Dale Chihuly had as exhibit at the park near the Space Needle.  It was absolutely stunning, and huge!  Below you can see the photo and my card.

Guylou names all of our colors that we choose and she does a FAB job!  I punched out my leaves and used a Fiskar border punch.  The PP is some old Basic Gray I had and my sentiment is an old fall sticker.  My blings I colored with Copic Markers to match my paper.  It doesn't show up very well but fall bling to me is captured in the gorgeous falling leaves.  I hope the photo inspires you to come and make something awesome for the challenge.  We have a great sponsor, The Stamping Boutique, URL:, who is gifting our monthly random winner with the three digis the the DT is using and they are adorable!  Plus.....there are so many wonderful prizes site wide!

Just Bursting With Color.....

Hello, my cyber pals!  I don't know about ya'll, but I am ready for Fall!  We really don't get much spring or fall in Georgia, just a cooler summer into winter and a warmer winter into summer!  I am thankful that we have had some decent rain recently.  I feel for the farmers!

This week's Color Challenge at The Outlawz is a gorgeous one selected by Laurian.  She recently attended a flower show in Great Britain and took lots of beautiful and inspiring photos.

I used some old PP I have had for about two years, ditto the flower ribbon, dotted ribbon and pom poms!  Guess I dipped way down deep into my stash!  I used a CM small circle punch to cut my words out of a piece of PP and the border is a Fiskar border punch.

Hope you all will find some time to come over and check out my fellow DT's projects and enter your own.  We have a fabulous sponsor this month in The Stamping Boutique!  Please stop by her store and say hello!

Awfully Hot August!

For someone who hates hot, muggy weather, I sure picked the wrong part of the country to live in!  I got to pick the name for the month of August for the Color Challenge at The Outlawz, and I chose "Awfully Hot August".  Very appropriate.  I also got to choose the inspiration photo, colors and Twist.

The Twist is to add pearls
We have the awesome sponsorship of The Stamping Boutique this month.  They are gifting August's random drawn winner the three digis that the Design Team used.

Jen Leeflang is our Guest Designer for the month of August.  She is from Durban, South Africa and does the most amazing work.  We are delighted to have her join us this month.

I have been losing sleep watching the Olympics every night, but it has been worth it.  The talent is just amazing.  They sacrifice so much of every day life to pursue their dream.  Awesome!
