Still a Day Late and a Dollar Short!

Wellllll......Life is calming down a bit for me.  I've taken more time off of work this summer than I have in years!  It has been to do some awesome stuff, though, so I can't complain too much!  Work is finally calming down enough that I can try to get some quality crafting in!

I recently joined the DT at Through The Craft Room Door.  If you have not checked them out......YOU NEED TO!  It is a really fun and talented group of members and the awesome chatter does not stop!

Click on the link on the side bar and check them out. There are a lot of fun challenges and very fun crafters to meet!

COLOR CHALLENGE THE OUTLAWZ

Laurian selected our awesome color palette and inspiration photo.  The twist this week is to add leaves.  My image is from Inky Impressions and she is an adorable little fairy doing her laundry.  She was a lot of fun to color up with my Copics.  The leaves I used (there are also leaves in the digi) were punched from a tiny punch I picked up on the dollar table at Mike's.  I used a Martha border punch, Sizzix embossing folder, a little bit of rick rack and a gem on a gem.

Hope you will find some time to come and check out "Through the Craftroom Door" and the ever infamous "The Outlawz" and send some love!

This has been the Summer that does not want to end. The weather has been so wonderful in the Northern Hemisphere. Fall is just around the corner and we are still enjoying Summer like weather. No complaints here!! :)

This challenge is about Weather! Trina is challenging us to make a project which has a weather theme. To inspire you, here is Trina's master piece.

I chose Guylou's adorable pouncing kitty!

Come check out the challenge and enter a project!  The prize is awesome digis by Guylou to a randomly drawn person!

Recipe Card

Good morning, friends!  Color Challenge's sponsor, Inky Impressions, has some fantastic designs.  I used their Recipe Card this week.  Our challenge was to use the colors and add some texture.  I used some old papers that I had, (I am notorious for tearing them out of their binders and putting them up according to color) Ippity stamps for the pear and journal lines.  I cut the leaves out of burlap and used a snippet of ribbon that matched perfectly!  The tag label and sentiment are from "Inky Impressions".

I hope you will come over and check out our challenge and submit a project!

Also, check out the "Creative Freebie Challenge".  Sandi and Anne have given us some awesome as always digis to play with and these are the two cards I made.

Good Morning!

My wonderful bosses at Rivertown Dental Care are taking our staff on a long weekend Caribbean cruise this weekend!  We are going to the Bahamas.  We leave Thursday morning at 2:00 A.M. for Port Canaveral via a big tour bus.  Should be a fun time!  I will post a group shot when I return.

Today's color challenge is one that we sidelined when we had our Christmas in July challenge back in July.  Theresa picked out color palette and it is a lovely one.  The Sweet September twist is to add brads.

I made the rosette from some blue satin ribbon I had and added a bling for the center.  The border punch is a Fiskar and I cut the little flowers with a small flower punch I have had forever.  My brads are two "Fire in the Sky Orange" ones and one button brad.  I used half a doily a heart and some polka dot ribbon.  My image is from "The Digi Street".

I hope everyone has a blessed week!

Happy September!

Hooray for almost fall!  Fall is my most favorite season, and it is a short one in Georgia.  It hasn't arrived yet, but at least it is not 100 degrees in the shade right now.

Guylou started the month off with a really FUN color challenge at The Outlawz.  The colors are dark and somber, just like her hunky inspiration photo of Johnny Depp!  There has been a lot of hilarious chatter on the site about Mr. Depp and the cards that we have already gotten are terrific!  I feel my card pales in comparison to my sistah DT's and what the members have already sent us.  Our Sweet September Twist is to make a masculine card.

Our fabulous sponsor for this month is Inky Expressions at http://www.inkyimpressionsrubberstamps.com/  be sure to stop by her store and check out her fantastic art work!
