Better Late Than Never

Got a lot going on this week.  The Hubs is having surgery next week at a hospital 120 miles from home because they are the experts.  Luckily it is 15 miles from our daughter's house, so I can stay with them for the week.  We have a wonderful nephew who will stay at our house and take care of the dogs.

My two favorite crafty websites, The Outlawz and Through The Craftroom Door have their challenges up and there are wonderful prizes up for grabs.  I hope to see you at both of them!

The Outlawz

Lindsay chose our palette and Twist this week.

I will be a year ahead for my grandson's next birthday!  I was inspired by the inspiration photos design.  I thought it was so cute.  I used my Cricut to cut the scalloped circles and the number "6".  Kraft paper is the base of my card and polka dot paper is from my stash as is the red card stock.  I attached my ribbon with a tiny glue dot and attached some lime green bling to my number.  I made the curvy edge on my card with an old Creative Memories cutting edge paper cutter.  When I started scrapbooking many, many years ago, I started with Creative Memories.  I remember thinking how expensive everything was, but it was so much fun!  Now....jump forward about 15+ years and I have a whole craft room with (I'm afraid to say) has thousands of $$ of scrap and card supplies!  LOL

You can see my list of supplies at the TTCRD Challenge blog.  This is one of Anne Fenton's digi's and I finished off the inside of my card, too.

Happy Tuesday!

Any day after Monday is a "Happy Day".  LOL.  My card this week at The Outlawz Color Challenge is based on the lovely and vibrant inspiration photo by our own Penny.  Penny is also our sponsor this month!

I chose the colors Grass, Lemon and Passion Purple.  Your April Actions Twist is to add a butterfly.

I used a tiny butterfly punch I have had that I got off a dump table at Michael's, and boy have I gotten a lot of use out of it!  My flower are some old Prima's I have had for ages, also.  I put some tiny purple pearls on my butterflies and some green ones on my flowers.  The leaves were made with a small leaf punch and my grass was cut with my Cricut.  I have really been trying to use my Cricut more.

My sister, one of the "R" girls, gave me a whole box of various size punches she said she never used.  What a windfall for me!  I had fun over the weekend putting them all in order.

Today at The Outlawz we are getting our Tropical on!  Laurian chose a gorgeous photo for your inspiration and our color palette.  Her photo of the Bird of Paradise was taken on her holiday.  Your Twist this week is to make your project Tropical!

I have been trying to use my Cricut a little more.  The Hibiscus flowers were cut from the Life's a Beach cartridge and I place jewels in the center of them.  The font is also from the same cartridge.  The two background die cuts are made with Nestibilities dies and I added a little Stickles glitter in the deep yellow to the stem of the flowers and inked the edge of my card with yellow Cat's Eye chalk.

My card for this week

The digi is from Oak Pond and I used Copic Markers to color it up.  I put a "dot" of Shiny Accents on the Lady bug spots, used a small doily, lavender pearls, white satin ribbon and added tiny lavender pearls to it.  My cardstock is from my stash and it from Creative Memories.  It came pre-embossed and I have had it forever!  I used a decorative corner rounder also from Creative Memories.

Get Your Color On!

Lindsay is challenging us to use White and pick two other colors from the palette and make up your own TWIST.
My Card
I used the white, black and pink for my palette and a cute little bunny stamp from Stampin' Up.
I also used two tiny heart punches and an egg punch along with a tiny leaf punch.  My TWIST
was to use a die cut.  I used one of my Nestibilities dies in two different sizes for my bunny background.
Little Bunny Foo Foo is colored with Copics in W1, W3 and W5 with a little pink in the ears.
I wrote my own sentiment with a Creative Memories Pink journaling pen.

Come Out and Play!

Color challenge this week has a fun theme of using balloons at your twist.  I used the balloon die cut from Sizzix.  It is one of the small ones.  I chalked the edges for a little definition, and used Glossy accents on the cut outs on the balloons and attached some white twine and a little piece of ribbon.  My image is from a very old set of Stampin' Up stamps and I colored with my Copic Markers.  I used my Creative Memories oval cutting system and an embossing folder from Sizzix.  The crocheted flower is from Michael's and I put a metal embellie on it.

The "Anything Goes" Challenge is up on the TTCRD Challenge Blog.  Use you imagination and come up with something FABULOUS!

Our sponsor this week is "All Dressed Up" and they certainly have some delightful digis!  The one I used is just precious with her little back pack and puppy.  I used my same ovals from CM, Copic Markers, and some distressed papers that were on clearance at Michael's in their racks.  Used two little flower punches and a small leaf punch, and a bit of ribbon.  Come and join us!

This is for my grandson, Dean who turned 5 this month!  I used Jolly Red,
Jungle Green, Digger Yellow, Deep Denim, and the Clean White.
OK, so I used them ALL!  My little monster is holding his flower balloon
with a piece of blue and white Baker's Twine.

Forgot to post the Color Challenge Palette!  I seem to be having a lot of senior moments lately.

Roll Tide and other things

Today's "Anything Goes" challenge at Through The Craftroom Door is up for your fun!  Today, I have used an adorable Cheerleader digi from the Paper Shelter.  I just love their art!  They have the cutest images and they are fun to color up.  My husband and I are huge Alabama fans so I just had to use their colors and the houndstooth paper I found at Michael's in there rack.  You will have to wait until the TTCRD magazine comes out to see how I put her together, but I think she is pretty cute!  Be watching for the magazine which will come out shortly.  If you don't have a subscription, your are missing out on great tutorials and free digis!

At our Color Challenge at The Outlawz, the ladies have worked their magic to bring you some great inspiration cards to spark you imagination.  Ursula selected our inspiration photos and colors and Laurian brought them to life.  My card is made using one of Anne Fenton's digis.  She is our wonderful sponsor for this month and your can score six of her digis in a random drawing at the end of the month.  You just have to submit a project this week to be eligible to go into the drawing.

I used her little Native American Girl and colored her up using my Copic Markers that I always get at OOZAK.  I used the Southwest Cricut Cartridge to my background and the Thunderbirds below.  I used two different tiny flower thumb punches I scored at Michaels on a dump rack for $1.00 each.  I used brown and lavender cardsto as well as some sea foam green cardstock.  I put my fiber under two small brown gems from Reminisce and I did not use a sentiment because I am waiting to see what occasion I will use this card.

I would love to see all my friends come on over and play at these two sites this week.  We have awesome prizes up for grabs!

Garden Ladder

This week at The Outlawz our challenge is to pick two colors from the inspiration photo and use them on your project along with the "one" color that Penny selected.  Her selection this week is white.  I used coral and green on my card.  Our sponsor, Anne's Digital Art, provided us with gorgeous images to use and I chose her garden ladder.  My twist is to add pearls.

I used a Sizzix embossing folder that I felt looked "garden-ee", my copic markers, leafy sticker border, and I inverted the heart border from Martha Stewart.  The small border in coral and white is also from the same sticker sheet as the leaves, and I have had it for years.

Run, don't walk, over to TTCRD and play in the anything goes challenge.  Team B has some beautiful inspiration cards posted to help your creative juices get flowing.  There are some great prizes to be had through a random drawing and all levels of craftiness are invited!  TTCRD also has an amazing magazine with lots of creativity, tutorials, and inspiration for not a lot of dough.  The free digis in the magazine, alone, are worth the price of admission.  There is also a:

Nolan and the Bullfrog and Peace Sign

Good morning friends!  This week at TTCRD and The Outlawz there are two fun challenges up for you to join and have fun with!  When I saw our sponsor at TTCRD, Fred She Said's, little Nolan and the Bullfrog I had to color him up!  He reminds me of my grandson Dean when he was three.  He will be five on the 18th and I can't believe where the time has gone.

I used a piece of denim jeans paper I have had for quite some time, and a piece of denim PP I got at Michael's off the rack.  Of course I used Copic markers to color up little Nolan and my sentiment is a stamp from Ippity.  I tied a piece of packaging twine and secured it with tiny Zots glue dots.

The Outlawz Color Challenge has beautiful spring colors that I got to pick.  I found this lovely photo at Pinterest with all the fabulous and colorful flowers and couldn't resist using it.  My twist is to use flowers on your project.  My card is from Anne Fenton's new collection that you could win this month if you enter the challenge.  Your cards each week with go into our drawing.

The young lady kinda reminds me of moi back in the late sixties so I couldn't resist going with a "hippie chick" theme.  The font and peace sign are from a Cricut cartridge that had 50's and 60's that I used over at my sister's craftroom and I apologize for not remembering the name of it!  I made an easel card and placed my flowers that I cut from with a small thumb punch.  The flower centers are small blue gems.

I hope you will join us at both challenges and get "froggy" with your "groove" on!

Over at the Outlawz, today is Color Challenge Tuesday!  Laurian picked the awesome photo from which she selected the color palette.  It is so perfect for the 50th Anniversary of the Beatles.

The "Twist" is Let's Be Musical
I used a flower that was a gift from a friend in "Paul Aqua", CM "Mystery Green" PP, The musical note paper is from Michael's.  I tore a pieced of that paper with the word Allegro on it.  The ballerina is one that I drew and colored with my Copics.
I hope I see you at both of the challenges this week!

TTRCD Challenge and Color Challenge at The Outlawz

Welcome to the TTRCD (Through The Craftroom Door) weekly Anything Goes Challenge!  Sandra V. is you hostess this week and Team A is providing the lovely inspiration projects.  Mine is a Doodle Pantry digi that I colored with my Copic Markers.  I buy all of my Copics and refills from our sponsor OOZAK.  Rusty and his team are wonderful and they get my orders quickly and efficiently.

My paper is Basic Grey as are the stickers.  I cut an oval with my Creative Memories cutting system and inked the edge with Color Box chalk in olive.  I tied a piece of organza ribbon around the stem of the flower. I had popped the flower up with pop dots.  Hope you will enter a project for a chance at the awesome prizes up for grabs.

The Outlawz Color Challenge

Over at The Outlawz the challenge this week is to use the lovely color palette chosen by Lindsay and the twist is to "Add Wings".  Wings have to be on your project.

I used a stamp by Stampabilities and used Copics in W1, W3, W5 and W7.  The embossing folder is by Sizzix and I used two shades of gray cardstock.  The pale green oval is a piece of patterned paper I picked up at Michael's in their paper racks.  I have forgotten the manufacturer of the gray roses.  I curled the little wire stems around a small wooden dowel and the gray ribbon is from my stash.  I really liked working with the grays and that soft pale green.

The Outlawz Color Challenge is a fun one.  "Formal February" is our calling for this month.
Pick two more colors to go with Ina's pick of Rose Red
Your Formal February Twist is  you TELL US WHAT IT IS.

I chose the bright green and black as my two other colors.  I used one of my embossing folders on the top half.  It is actually a hounds tooth impression like the B & W paper below.  The red glitter hearts are brads and the ribbon is one I actually received on a Christmas gift!  the sentiment I cut with my Cricut.  I think I used the Alphalicious cartridge and I colored with my Copic markers.  Hope to see your awesome designs in both challenges!

Good Things.....

The Through The Craftroom Door Magazine is here!  Check out the video in my sidebar to preview.  It is loaded with free digis, fabulous inspiration, and great tutorials.

The TTCRD "Anything Goes" challenge is up and running.  I hope to see your fantastic creations there.  My card this week is using our wonderful sponsor "SandiSamples" digi, Sunflowers.  Sandi is offering three digis to this week's randomly drawn winner.

I used a 6 X 6 palette of papers by MME called "Breeze".  It is a lovely palette that was a gift from a friend. The flowers are Copic Markers Y17, Y11, Y000 and a little Y21.  The leaves are G09, G24, and G28.  I added a bit of cotton lace I picked up at Hobby Lobby in the fabric section. and I cut the sentiment from a 7 X 7 piece of "worded" paper.

The Color Challenge at The Outlawz this week is a fun color trio.  It was my turn to pick the color palette and Twist and I grabbed this one on Pinterest.

My Twist was to make it Valentine's Day

My little mousie stamp is from Stampin' Up and they are colored with Copic Markers C1, C3, C5 and C7.  The Heart is RV11, R83 and R85.  The hearts were cut with Creative Memories dual Heart Punch and I inked the edges in Martha Stewart purple chalk ink.  The papers are from CM, too.  I used an unnamed small butterfly punch and embellished them with a purple gem as I did on the sentiment, also.  The sentiment is vellum and I have had it a while.  I punched a tiny heart in the corners.  Come check out the cards by the rest of the team, Laurian, Penny, Ina, Lindsay and Ursula and add your own creation!

making our color blocks each week from our inspiration photos and picking fun
names for them.  My cute digi is from our wonderful sponsor, "Stitchy Bear".  You
really need to check out their website.  I used a Nestabilities die and an embossing
as well as my Copics.  I wove my ribbon in and my metal accents are little golden suns.

I stitched on the right side with purple and white Baker's Twine and used an EK Success border punch across the bottom.  The sentiment is hand written and I added two pearls and some Martha Stewart purple chalk on the edges.
